Bruno Torf is a super talented craftsman that created a wonderland of enchanting and breath-takingly beautiful sculptures and nestled them in the lush splendor of the Australian rainforest just outside Marysville...a picturesque Victorian village of 400.
It's gone. The Australian wildfires of early February swept through and completely destroyed Marysville, killing most of its townspeople. Those fires heartlessly claimed the rain forest, too. And over 300 exquisite art sculptures by Bruno. Bruno, his family and a few close friends, managed to escape. When most would simply give up, Bruno has set out to rebuild. Every Photo Tells A Story

I know I featured this crocodile/butterfly painting on a blog a few weeks ago. But Nancy, the imaginative creator of the delightful blog "Every Photo Tells A Story" has honored me by featuring this painting as the subject matter for today. Nancy posts a painting or photo from a participating artist or photographer and invites readers and visitors to leave a comment or a writing. I ran across her site a few weeks ago and left a poem on the gargoyle painting of Feb 20. Since then I have been hooked, and each morning, after my morning "pep prayer" I go to her site and write a poem. It's fun, and gets me going faster than sitting on a cactus. My contribution for Sunday was one of my rare serious times...It was a photo of an inside cell at Auschwitz. My sister, and kids, and several friends, called to let me know how touching that piece was. And it was.

Later this month, after I get artist's permissions, etc. I will do a post on selected artwork and poems of mine from past submission. OK...you WERE warned. For now, visit her charming site..... Every Photo Tells A Story"

Smile..You're on Candid Canvas (Mystery Artist 4)

When I say "Mystery", I really mean it, cause this time it's even a mystery to me. I have no idea if I got in the ballpark with this one..so let me know. The thumbnail I had to work with should have had a title..."Photo of the artist in a dark forest on a moonless night". Also, my scanner bellied up and I had to shoot a photo of this, so the quality isn't up to par (how's that for an excuse?). At any rate, my apologies to the artist. Please don't send a hitman after me.

Note...I have had all kinds of problems with Blogger. First the verification code wouldn't allow comments. So I shot it. Now even Joe the Plumber can comment. Next, I've gotten 34,618 E-Mails from anxious visitors saying they couldn't connect. They get a message like "Windows can't open this blog. Operation aborted". So I deleted my music gadget hoping that'll work. I contacted www.getsatisfaction.com Naturally, I can't get no satisfaction. Went to Blogger Buzz...the "buzz" is the sound of the "helpful" employees and blogger gurus snoring their fannies off. With Google's money seems like they could at least do as good as Pogo Games. OK. Spleen vented. Patience, James.

I have a few friends in Australia who keep me posted. I heard from them and am devastated...heartbroken. Go to www.brunosart.com Watch the video and see what was lost. It will break YOUR heart. It is so encouraging that he has the spirit to even think of rebuilding. I look at my little problems and feel so small. I'm looking into trying to get an E-bay auction together of donated artworks to help this cause...more on that later.
