Invasion of the Body Snatchers...DSFDF Challenge

NOTICE: All images above are fictitious. Any resemblance to actual persons, living or
otherwise, is completely accidental.

An artist would have to be (1) Completely out of their mind, (2) Really stupid, and/or (3) a total masochist to attempt to capture the likenesses of eleven (11) beautiful women on canvas. I attempted to capture the likenesses of eleven (11) beautiful women on canvas for this DSFDF project.

Please allow me to state that I did not try to complete an exquisite, detailed portrait atop each dummy neck...for that, I charge. What you see above are representational caricatures of blog artists...like they were posing for Mad Magazine. You will notice that they are all female...except for the bozo in the top left, Peeping James (much better than frogs, Adebanji). The reason for this is that I enjoy painting females...that, and the fact that guys are more likely to beat up on ya if ya mess up.

On some, I think I got a good likeness of the person intended. On others, I think I got a pretty good likeness of somebody that must exist on this planet. At any rate, I pulled enough hairs for this one to make another wig. I have presented 2 WIP photos below...

This is STEP ONE. I have all the necessary materials laid out before me...coffee, cigarettes, a brush assortment, reference photos, water, a "mini palette" of acrylics, and a spray bottle to keep those acrylics nice and juicy. Not illustrated, but equally important, are my two dogs, Pokey and TacoBelle, at my feet. Ahhhhhhhh. Now to get started on this delightful challenge.

Okay!!!! This is STEP TWO!!!
Pay Attention, cause I'm only gonna show ya this once. %X}@!! If ya got eyes in your head ya can plainly see I added a couple of x@!% things...Aspirin and my Bible. If I was a drinking man, you'd also see a couple of &X!%@ empty Jack Daniels bottles. Don't know where the %#X2@ dogs are!!. Now, why don't you go back to your &#x@ canvas and quit snooping!!!!!!!!

  2. You da man James, this one cracked me up, and you did a credible job on these gals. I better not mention any names other than Dana, Sheila and Maggie. Great concept and lots of fun. That's quite the balancing act that you are doing! Maggie seems concerned.

  18. hahahahahaha................ your head is off. It's a good thing you showed us your work table so we could see how you got this done !!!! a lot of aspirin and prayer. If you were not part of DSFDF we would not smile so much.
Are we going to get a list of the subjects ? Maybe after reading their names we can identify them with using our magnifier and looking at their thumbnail pictures ?

  35. This is Pokey, my masterbuddy's dog. I have to answer for him (You people call him James, I call him Stinkyfeet) because he is passed out on the floor from all the delightful comments. You humans are really weird....he likes these nice words, but I'd prefer a ham bone.
